Sailing Journey
A sailing journey with Mifrasim is a unique chance to step into a different kind of space, away from routine, and into an environment where the sea itself becomes a partner for emotional growth. Guided together by a professional skipper and a licensed therapist, the boat turns into a safe and supportive setting.
our programs
The sailing journey is a group-based, process-oriented program consisting of multiple sailing sessions, each lasting four hours:

Annual program
26 sessions (4 hours each), plus an overnight sail, and a six-month follow-up meeting

Six-month program

Workshop

How the Process Works
Profiling – Getting to Know the Group
The Mifrasim staff begin their work with an orientation process, getting to know the individual participants and understanding their needs. Together, we design a program that fits the group’s goals and unique dynamics.
Preparation
We carefully match each group with the right team and hold an introductory sail where participants meet their therapist and crew. This ensures that the groups come aboard with clarity about the process they are embarking on and the confidence of knowing that they are in professional and supportive hands.
Setting Sail
During the initial sailing sessions, the focus is on expanding comfort zones and adjusting gradually to the unfamiliar environment: the world of sailing and seamanship. They learn how to operate the boat as a team, discovering their own individual role within the collective.
As the sessions progress, the emotional process deepens. The boat becomes a microcosm of life itself. Every nautical challenge becomes an opportunity for psychological exploration and for personal and group growth.
Highlight Experience – A Night at Sea
The overnight voyage is one of the high points of Mifrasim’s programs. For 24 hours, the group lives together onboard, cooking meals, taking shifts on deck and learning to adapt to changing conditions. This intense experience sharpens the participants’ realization of the inner strength they have developed along the way.
As night falls, darkness surrounds the boat, the pace slows, voices soften and there are heartwarming moments of closeness, sharing, and reflection. Out of that stillness, the dawn rises – an uplifting, metaphorical experience of renewal.
Closure and Reflection
At the end of the program, along with the therapist and crew, participants pause to reflect on their journey, recognizing the path they’ve taken and the tools and confidence they gained. The deep bonds formed on board often remain long after returning to daily life. Participants develop deep personal connections as well as informal support networks that continue to strengthen their resilience and that of their communities.
Indeed, for many, this is not the end of a journey, but the beginning of a new one.
